[Eventually, after punching Royce and a couple one sided conversations and getting the hang of battling before anything else, Red finally discovers her own 'Gear has a text function. She actually types a lot... It's just that none of it really goes through, every line deleted. There's so much to say, she doesn't even know where to start.]

[Well... Royce is on information gathering duty, as much as he hates talking with people, so she finally decides to go with something more mundane.]

I don't know who voted for all the rain, but I don't suppose anyone wants to let a lady borrow an umbrella? [A pause before she adds-] Or a pack of cigarettes.

[And because she can't help herself...]

As for these Pokemon, are there any kind that can sing? Or any more dogs. I wouldn't mind another if I could figure out where to find one.

[For anyone in New Bark or on the route itself, they'll be able to see Red along it along with an Electrike that's constantly chasing Pokemon out of the tall grass. They're both actually rather quiet, but she's quick to look up when she realizes there's someone else nearby. Well... Someone besides Royce, who's nearby as wel and who she's also keeping an eye on.]

A computer? Um...well there are PCs that you can use in all of the Pokemon Centers! And I think there's an electronics store in Goldenrod City.

... ah. so it will be a while until I can get my own computer.

Yeah, probably. If you guys plan on heading to Goldenrod though, you should try checking out the electronics place! You might find what you're looking for there.

You can get money when you challenge the gyms! There are also different jobs you can get in some towns too, I think...and I work at a traveling circus, so that's where I get my money from.

i suspect you don't mean personal fitness centers.

And yeah, a circus! If you and Red are ever in town when there's a show, you guys should come watch! It's loads of fun.

Well, there are gyms in certain towns that you can challenge with your Pokemon! If you beat the leader, you win a badge. Badges are useful for training strong Pokemon, and you get money and TMs too!

useful how?

Sometimes, if a Pokemon gets really strong and at a high level, they won't listen to you when you try to train them.

Having a badge will make them listen, though. The tougher the gym, the more likely a tough Pokemon will listen to you in battle!

I dunno! That's just the way it works, I guess.

Yeah, a lot of things are kinda weird here. You just gotta get used to them.

i'm starting to see that. such as the - what was it, magnemite? are there more creatures like it? i mean in the same sort of mechanical vein of things.

I think so, yeah! Like Porygon, I think? I've never trained one, but they're supposed to be made by people, or something.

i'll have to see about getting one then!
