Sep. 20th, 2014 03:09 amWhen I was still studying, my first Selection was of course in Music. Some of you probably aren't surprised after talking with me. However, my second Selection was in Language. I suppose that's why I've noticed that most Pokemon species' names are really just clever wordplay.
Electrike is an easy example. It has something to do with "electric".
Staravia is likely based off of the words "starling", which is a type of bird, and "avian". Don't ask me if they even know what a starling is here, but it's what makes the most sense.
I could go on.
With all of these new Pokemon, however, we don't really know what they're called if anything. For ease of conversation, I've been coming up with a few names myself. I haven't quite been able to decide between "Sapphare" and "Carbun" for those little rock rabbits, but Greed and I decided on "Impecho" for those bats that were in Violet a while ago.
Have any of you come up with names for some of these new Pokemon? Alternatively, you could always challenge me to make up a name for one if you're having trouble deciding what to call it. It's actually been rather fun coming up with names.
