[It's been a long treck to get here, and one can find Red by Sprout Tower just sitting by the water and tossing bread out to the local Duckletts. Two Growlithe and an Electrike are napping around her. They've just finished a long journey so they're allowed to relax.]

[It's a rather peaceful scene, if you can ignore the Kricketot that might suddenly run up to you with its antennae clicking together.]

That makes it harder, right? It'd be easier to hate that kind of person for all the harm they do, but then you see them at their weakest and trying to hate them becomes an effort.

Band together. Avoid spots where they feel vulnerable. Train such powerful teams that they feel more secure.

Right. And that loss doesn't even have to be death. Broken friendships are just as painful, especially when there's no chance of patching things up.

When that happens, you're stuck dealing with regret. At least, that's what I'd guess.

That's exactly right. And maybe add "keeping your head down" to that list. If they make you a target, your life will become a lot harder.

Sometimes anger, depending on how things go, but sometimes it's just something to mask up the pain and regret.

"Where'd things go wrong"? I guess that's something we always ask ourselves even when it's not our fault.

Of people? Basically they go after anyone who speaks out against them or makes a point of acting for justice or something like that. Of Pokemon? No type preference but they prefer anything rare and powerful. Unsurprising, really.

There is no way of putting a label on what is 'worse.' Both of these 'types' you have presented are capable of the same atrocity. The one who claims to be noble cause could be, however, more dangerous if they can get others to buy into to their lies.

i don't really do the hate thing anyway, but i know what you're saying. and i don't think i could stay upset too much because how do i know i'd be any different if i was them?

That depends on the hurt they have caused. Redemption can be pursued, but not always attained.

Something like that. With the former there's someone to blame and the injury only goes as far as it was inflicted. Let them fool you into blaming fate or yourself and the wound festers deeper than it needs to.

And when people leave here, you're stuck wondering if they'll be okay back home or what the future holds.
